About Reconditioning
Continental Athletic Supply proudly offers Athletic Equipment Reconditioning services to teams and individuals.
We do not compromise when it comes to reconditioning protective equipment.
A player's safety is our top priority!
In addition to football helmets and shoulder pads, we also repair and sanitize uniforms and practice aids, extending their usable life. Dummies, shields and landing pads can all be repaired or recovered to look "like new" at a fraction of the cost of new equipment.
We are a member of NAERA and licensed by NOCSAE to recertify and paint all helmet brands.
- We provide helmet warranty replacement services to our customers for all helmet manufactures, when eligible under the manufacturer's warranty.
- We are a California based company, providing services to many surrounding states.
- All work is done on site at our facility.
- We can create custom colors for your team and/or match your current paint color, just ask!

***Please Note*** In order to recertify your helmet to NOCSAE standards, defective and/or missing parts may be needed. These replacement parts are not included in the reconditioning price but are priced individually and added to your order as needed. Because we cannot determine what parts will be needed ahead of time, we cannot calculate order totals or take your payment until your order is complete. We will contact you once we have completed your order and are ready to ship your equipment back to you. At that time, we will go over the details of your order and your payment options.
Payment must be received before your item can be returned. We accept all major credit cards for your convenience. Personal checks are not accepted.
A standard reconditioning order takes approximately 15 business days to complete. However, May through August is our busiest time of year, and orders submitted during these months could take 8+ weeks to complete. While we do our best to get your equipment back to you quickly, we cannot guarantee a return date....Early submission is recommended.
Continental Athletic Supply uses UPS Ground Service to ship your helmet back to you. Shipping costs will apply.
Reconditioning orders submitted during May through August can take up to 8 weeks to complete.
To avoid long wait times, we highly recommend getting your helmet recertified immediately after your season is over!
**After reconditioning, all helmets must be refit to the individual user. Please see manufacturer instructions for proper maintenance and fitting Instructions: Xenith, Schutt , Riddell, Rawlings
Rejected Equipment: Helmets can only be recertified when they are able to meet the standards set by NOCSAE. Equipment not able to meet these standards are rejected. Helmets can be rejected for many reasons, including age, cracks or deformities or failing to pass the NOCSAE drop test. A $10.00 inspection charge and any applicable shipping charges wll apply.
If a rejected helmet is covered under the manufacturer's warranty, Continental Athletic Supply will work directly with the helmet manufacturer on your behalf to replace your helmet. This service is provided at no additional charge.
Effective 9/1/2011, the National Athletic Equipment Reconditioner Association (NAERA) will not recondition/recertify any football helmet 10 years of age or older, as determined by the manufacturers date on the helmet.
For more information on safety equipment reconditioning standards please see the NOCSAE and NAERA websites.
Paint Orders
Caution! We strongly recommend that you DO NOT paint your own helmet. Painting by anyone other than a reconditioner licensed by NOCAE will automatically void the manufacturers warranty. Store bought paint and other substances may lead to shell degradation and/or cracking of the shell or liner components that may not be outwardly visible. Licensed reconditioners use factory authorized paints applied in a specific process that does not compromise the integrity of the helmet shell. Other methods otherwise expose the helmet wearer to unnecessary risk.
SAFETY FIRST!Keep your head up. Do not butt, ram, spear or strike an opponent with any part of the helmet or faceguard. This is a violation of football rules and may cause you to suffer severe brain or neck injury, including paralysis or death and possible injury to your opponent. Contact in football may result in Concussion/Brain Injury which no helmet can prevent. Symptoms include loss of consciousness or memory, dizziness, headache, nausea or confusion. If you have symptoms, immediately stop and report them to your coach, trainer and parents. Do not return to a game or contact until all symptoms are gone and you receive medial clearance. Ignoring this warning may lead to another and more serious or fatal brain injury.
NO HELMET SYSTEM CAN PREVENT CONCUSSIONS OR PROTECT YOU FROM SERIOUS BRAIN AND/OR NECK INJURIES, INCLUDING PARALYSIS OR DEATH. TO AVOID THESE RISKS, DO NOT ENGAGE IN THE SPORT OF FOOTBALL.
